Grades this part is tooled in
- Dry carbon
Prepreg, lightest, arrives as finished twill or forged weave. Show and track builds.
- Vacuum carbon
High-temperature vacuum forming under gloss clear coat. The volume carbon grade.
- FRP
Primed and paint-ready — for lips painted body color or gloss black.
- ABS
Molded-in gloss or matte black, no paint required. Volume orders.
Five grades run through the same molds. Ask for the grade by name on the quote — it changes weight, finish on arrival and price band, not fitment.
Questions buyers ask
- Does the factory bumper have to come off?
- No. A lip or splitter mounts to the bumper that is already on the car. Most fitters remove the bumper to get at the fixing points, but it goes back on unmodified.
- What ground clearance does a splitter need?
- It depends on the design and on how the car sits. A deep splitter on a lowered car will make contact on driveway ramps. Ask for the projection figure before ordering if the car is on a low setup.
- Carbon or FRP for a front lip?
- Carbon if the lip is meant to show weave and stay unpainted. FRP if it is being painted body color — it arrives primed, and paint hides the substrate anyway.
- Are fixings included?
- Yes, supplied with the part, including support rods on the designs that require them.
- Will a lip from one model year fit another?
- Only where the bumper is unchanged between years. Send the exact year and trim with the enquiry — the front bumper is one of the panels manufacturers revise most often mid-generation.
