CMST Tuning

A separate product line

Forged Wheels

CMST Forged is its own product line, not an accessory to the aero kits. Every wheel is forged from 6061 aerospace aluminum and machined to order, in monoblock or two-piece construction, to the size, offset, color and finish the customer specifies. Five-year warranty.

Two constructions

The choice is mostly about how far the offset has to travel and what the customer wants the barrel to look like.

  • CMST one-piece forged wheel, brushed finish
    The finished wheel
Section render of a monoblock forged wheel — face and barrel in one piece
    In section

    One piece — nothing bolted.

    MONOBLOCK

    15–25 days

One-piece forged, machined from a single billet. Lighter, fewer parts, nothing to reseal — but the barrel width is fixed by the blank.

    • Single forged billet, face and barrel in one
    • Custom sizes, widths and offsets
    • Painted, brushed or polished finishes
    • Electroplating adds 5 days; carbon wrapping adds 10
  • CMST two-piece forged wheel — bronze center bolted to a polished barrel
    The finished wheel
Section render of a two-piece forged wheel — a separate face bolted into the barrel
    In section

Grey face bolted into the red barrel.

    TWO-PIECE

    25–35 days

Forged center bolted to a separate barrel. Width, offset and lip depth stop depending on the face, which is why wide-arch builds go this way.

    • Forged center with a bolted barrel
    • Wider offset and width range than monoblock
    • Face and barrel can be finished differently
    • Electroplating adds 5 days; carbon wrapping adds 10

The designs shown here are the current CMST Forged catalog. Anything outside it can be cut to a customer's drawing — send the sizing and the fitment and we will quote the tooling with it.

Finishes

Twenty-eight finishes on the standard chart

The chart below is what gets quoted without a surcharge — matte, gloss, pearl and brushed, across silver, gray, black, white, bronze, gold, copper and color. Anything off the chart is matched to a sample; electroplating and carbon wrapping are separate processes with their own lead times.

CMST Forged standard finish chart. Names on the chart are the ones to quote in an enquiry — “brushed bronze” and “dark bronze” are different finishes.

Face and barrel can be finished separately — a brushed lip under a painted face is a two-finish order, not one.

Finish is quoted per set, not per wheel, and the lead times on this page assume a chart finish. Electroplating adds about 5 days and carbon wrapping about 10 — confirmed against the production schedule when the order is placed, and flagged earlier in peak season.

The catalog

Every wheel design in the current catalog

Each design is cut to order in the diameter, offset and finish you specify — the code is what goes on the quotation. Tap a wheel to page through its angles.

The photographs show finishes CMST has already built, not a fixed specification. Diameter, width, offset, bolt pattern and finish are set per order, in either construction.

How a wheel is made

Cut from solid, tested before it is packed

Six stages, in the same order every time. The test rig at the end is the reason the warranty can be five years.

  1. Dimensioned engineering drawing of a CMST forged wheel profile
    01

    3D DESIGN

The design is drawn in 3D against the vehicle's hub and brake clearances.

  2. Forged aluminum blanks racked before machining
    02

    DRAWING SIGN-OFF

Sizing, offset and spoke design are confirmed with the buyer before any metal moves.

  3. A CMST wheel face being CNC machined under coolant
    03

    MACHINING & FINISHING

The face is machined from the forged blank under coolant, then finished to the order — paint, brushing, polishing, electroplating or carbon wrapping.

  4. A two-piece forged wheel face being bolted into its barrel
    04

    ASSEMBLY

Two-piece wheels are bolted and sealed; monoblock wheels go straight to test.

  5. A mounted CMST wheel on the balance and runout test rig
    05

    SAFETY & LOAD TEST

Load, balance and runout are checked on the rig before packing.

  6. A finished forged wheel being packed for dispatch
    06

    PACKING

Sets are boxed with the hardware and center caps, labeled and packed for export.

Ordering and lead time

Monoblock wheels run 15–25 days and two-piece wheels 25–35 days. Electroplating adds five days and carbon wrapping adds ten — apply those on top of the construction time, not instead of it.

Minimum order is a set of four. Wheels can be mixed into an aero order, so a shop testing the line does not have to place a separate wheel-only order to get trade terms.

Lead time is confirmed against the production schedule at the point the order is confirmed. In peak season the schedule extends, and CMST flags that before the order is placed — never after.

Five-year warranty — what it covers

Forged wheels are covered for five years. When a problem is reported, technical support confirms whether it is a quality issue within one working day.

Where it is confirmed as a quality issue, CMST replaces the same wheel or compensates the equivalent value of the product. Freight — return and reshipment — is not covered by CMST. Damage that is not a product quality issue, such as kerb or impact damage, can be repaired on a chargeable basis.

Questions buyers ask

Can you make a size that is not in the catalog?+

Yes. Diameter, width and offset are made to order, and a design can be cut to a customer's own drawing. Send the vehicle, the fitment and — for a wide-arch build — the arch data, and the quote will include the tooling.

Do you supply single wheels?+

The minimum is a set of four. Wheels can be added to an aero order, so there is no separate minimum on the account.

How long do custom finishes take?+

Electroplating adds five days to the construction lead time and carbon wrapping adds ten. Both are confirmed against the production schedule when the order is placed.

What testing does each wheel get?+

Load, balance and runout testing is a standard step in the production sequence, done before packing — not an optional extra quoted separately.

Are wheel prices published?+

No. Wheel pricing depends on construction, size, finish and account terms. Request a quote and it comes back with the lead time.

Send the fitment and the finish

Quotes come back with construction options, finish choices and a lead time. Tuning shops and distributors only.
